The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Fighters Party

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the city.

Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look out of place, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each character has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, seeks vengeance.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team access locations they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This leaves them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.

What’s Next?

From episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Questers and Planners parties.

Audiences can look forward to learning which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
